Sunnyvale is a charming rural community in Dallas County. Do not let the fact that the city is considered rural fool you. Sunnyvale is an affluent town with a rich history that residents are proud of. When you move to this town of just over 5,000 residents, you and your family are welcomed with open arms.
History
Before Europeans settled in America, the area now known as Sunnyvale was populated by Native American tribes. As settlers migrated to Texas from the East, this underdeveloped area began to grow by leaps and bounds. When the state became a possession of America, what we now know as Sunnyvale became a destination for those migrating to the area.
In the early 1900s, the area was almost ruined by a large storm that literally blew parts of the town away. It was not until 1953 that the hamlets of Long Creek, Hatterville, Tripp, and New Hope merged, creating the city of Sunnyvale. Today, the city is a small but beautiful one. Any family moving to the area will quickly feel at home.

Jobson Park offers visitors a hike and bike trail that is a quarter-mile long. Visitors can also play an organized or pick-up game of soccer on the park’s field. The most popular park by far, Town Center, has two playgrounds, a fishing pond stocked with blue gill, catfish and bass, a bike trail, shelters, and tennis courts.
